People like us, need donors like us

Your roots make a difference

If more people from your community become donors, more patients with the same roots can receive the care they need. Sharing a similar background significantly increases the chances of a successful match between donor and patient. Having the same blood type alone is not enough. For example, blood from white donors is often less compatible for patients with sickle cell disease. The same applies to kidney and stem cell transplants, roots play a crucial role in a successful match. At present, there are far too few registered donors from our communities. As a result, patients often have to wait longer for treatment, their health may decline and in some cases, they may not survive.

Donating blood, stem cells, a kidney or part of your liver saves lives.
